Junior High FCCLA State Conference

Marmaduke FCCLA high school and junior high students recently attended a conference in Little Rock. In the awards ceremony Wednesday, junior high students Ali Hoffman, Kaitlyn Gilliam, and Hailey Muse, along with several high school students, received awards for the Power of One event.
“I thought it was very informing for everyone. My students really enjoyed it, and I hope that next year more students compete in the Power of One because it helps them in life,” said sponsor Judy Bell. “Plus, they receive certificates for achieving these goals.”
The motivational speakers had very strong points and were quite entertaining. “The football player Keith Green talked about how we should not be pressured into doing things we do not want to do,” said seventh grader Kaitlin Gilliam. Motivational speakers talked about leadership and how students should respect themselves and always strive to excel.
“I learned how to be a better leader and I am determined to go back and do it,” seventh grader Nathan Littleton said.
FCCLA is making a difference in showing students how to be leaders in their homes and communities.
