Elementary Visits Parker Home Stead
By Danielle Parker and Shayla Boak
(Sixth grade staffers)
Fifth and six graders went to Parker Homestead recently to learn how people back then lived. It was very interesting there. We got to see how they made brooms and kettle corn. Colby Agee enjoyed the park. “My favorite part was when I got to sit on the log while they were sawing on it,” he said.
Ms.Erica, a sub who went with us said, “I would definitely go back and I would probably bring my dad. He loves history.” Destiney from fifth grade said, “I loved the broom making.” Then she added, “I loved the rock candy.”
Megan Eaton said, “I liked the school house the best. I also loved the molasses because it tasted the best.”
We all had the best time ever.
