Incentive Program

The seventh and eighth grade classes went to see The Spy Next Door last week, for their Incentive Program. At the beginning of the nine weeks, every junior high students name is on a list to attend the movie. However, the student’s names are removed from the list if the student is sent to the office with a discipline referral, shows inappropriate citizenship, or if their unexcused absences exceed the three absences allowed. Their names will also be removed if their average in the core classes, Math, Science, English, and History, is below a C. If a student’s grade improves one letter grade from the previous nine weeks, the student will remain on the list as long as he/she meets all other criteria.
“Having an incentive program motivates me to get better grades because it enables me to do fun things,” said Whitney Bryant.
“I enjoyed the movie because it got me out of school,” said Kyla Mitchell.
“I think the Incentive Program really works because if you behave, you get to go to the movies,” said Heather Huffines.
The students tend to enjoy this activity, and it helps encourage them to get better grades.
