Eighth Graders Visit the Hemingway-Pfeiffer House

By Whitney Morris

Marmaduke eighth graders attended the Hemingway-Pfeiffer house in Piggott where they saw all kinds of minerals and learned about the history of the Hemingway House.

“It was a great experience and more interesting than I thought it would be,” said Nevada Sanders. Sanders said that they saw rocks and minerals and that she got to hold gold. “I enjoyed seeing all the pretty minerals,” Sanders added. Sanders also said that they got to go to the park where they ate lunch, played and took pictures.

“I loved looking through the house; it was very fun,” Kyla Mitchell remarked. Mitchell also thought all of the minerals were neat and that she would like to go back sometime.

“I saw a bunch of minerals and liked going to the park,” Emily Newell stated. She also added that she learned that Hemingway was depressed and took his own life. “It was really exciting. I would like to go back and learn some more,” Newell said.

“We looked at a bunch of minerals and the house was pretty,” said Kasey Clatfelter. Clatfelter said that there were a lot of minerals to look at. Clatfelter also said that she would like to go back because it was very interesting to her.

The eighth graders seemed to have had a very educational trip to the Hemingway-Pfeiffer house in Piggott. All of them seemed very anxious to someday go back.
