FBLA Trip
By Anna Oliver
The Senior High FBLA went to Southwest Church of Christ in Jonesboro where they attended a fall conference to talk with other FBLA members from other schools. They listened to a motivational speaker named Shannon Pickar, a stand-up comedian who starred in Walker Texas Ranger. FBLA sponsor, Suzie Parks enjoyed herself. “It was very entertaining. This conference is the most fun, better than most. The in others, students have to compete,” she stated.
A student from Marmaduke School, Drew Fletcher, was called onstage to play a game. “I really liked the speaker because he taught us about leadership and he was hilarious,” she said. Over all, the schools understood the reason Pickard came to talk to them. “He was funny, and I completely understood what he was telling us about,” Jordan Agee said. After the conference, FBLA members were able to spend time at the Turtle Creek Mall in Jonesboro, and eat lunch where they pleased.
