Marmaduke High School students participated in the Art and Stroll in downtown Paragould, last Thursday. Students from Paragould and Greene County Tech also participated in the event; the students’ artwork was displayed in the former bank building on 101 West Court Street. Marmaduke students with artwork displayed were Lily Taylor, Tonlee Mitchell, Trevor Blanchard, Tyler Sanders, Tyler Nailling, Jacob Pogue, Jonathon Hargrove, Craig Snyder, Dakota Matheny, Kaitlyn Friar, Hannah Huffines, Kali Hendrix, Kalinda Hampton, Gabriel Keeling, Anna Best, Tristin Clayton, and Tyler Summers.
“It was very creative; there were a lot of miraculous paintings there. It’s amazing how much talent kids have these days,” said Trevor Blanchard, whose painting is entitled “Tropical Poinsettias.”
“I was honored to have my artwork entered in the Art and Stroll,” said Tristin Clayton, whose painting was untitled.
Scatter Creek, a local country band, played new and old country music with an edge.
“We had a good time at our first Art and Stroll downtown,” said Lee Kingston, bass player for Scatter Creek. “We are honored to be asked back for the next downtown Paragould event on the third of June. We thank everyone who came out to support us and the artists.”
Everyday Life also played with a wide variety of music ranging from Michael Jackson to Cindy Lauper to Guns and Roses. A very large crowd gathered to enjoy the music and artwork.
