Art pieces of several Marmaduke art students were on exhibit at the Hemingway-Pfeiffer Museum during the Student Art Competition and Exhibit the first of May. Corning, Marmaduke, Piggott, and even Kennett students also had artwork on exhibit.
Kerry Reddick, Marmaduke art teacher is proud of her students. “Our students are very involved with the exhibit each year, and I’m extremely proud that they want to be a part of the celebration,” she said.
Marmaduke students who participated in this event were Robert Johnston, Tonlee Mitchell, Lily Taylor, Jacob Pogue, Cortney Easley, Trevor Blanchard, Sarah Weatherspoon, Logan Warren, Jonathan Hardgrave, and Matteo Rosin. Blanchard won second place and Honorable Mention went to Mitchell and Pogue.
“I was happy one of my art pieces was picked to be put in the Hemingway-Pfeiffer Museum art show,” Lily Taylor said. “I’m very proud of myself for being noticed for my artistic abilities.” This is the 8th art show the Hemmingway-Pfeiffer Museum has sponsored.
“I was so bewildered that my art piece won second place,” said Trevor Blanchard, 2nd place winner. “I thought every piece I looked at was better than mine, and I’m proud to receive 2nd place, but I think somebody else should have gotten it.”

Jacob Pogue, Sarah Witherspoon and Trevor Blanchard display artwork which was displayed at the Hemingway-Pfeiffer House Museum.
