Marmaduke Raises Money for Sixth Annual Make-A-Wish
By Lacy Clardy
Marmaduke School began six years ago working to grant wishes
for children for the Make-a-Wish foundation.
This is a big event for the students and the staff. Each year students and staff members try to
raise 5,000 dollars. This year they raised over the goal, so they started
saving up for next year.
Seventh grader Kelsee Ott said, “Make-a-Wish means so much
to me. I think it’s so important, and that this event should be taken seriously!”
Marmaduke is full of wishes, dreams, and hopes, and if the
students can grant one child’s fantasy, then they are going to do everything in
their power to raise money for that child. Student Emily Clardy exclaimed, “I
am honored to donate money to this occasion. I start to save money for
Make-a-Wish before it’s even time to start to save money!”
The best students come from Marmaduke. Marmaduke has
everything to offer to a child in need. Ninth grader, Natasha Mason proclaimed,
“Giving money to somebody who deserves something makes me feel great. I am so
happy that people have big enough hearts to start a program like this.”
This year, Marmaduke held a dance and watched a movie at
school to help raise money. If you want to donate money next year, just
remember that Marmaduke is participating!
