Senior Trip

Marmaduke seniors visited Six Flags at St. Louis April 2, where they made memories with those to whom they have grown close. Sponsor Kenny Vangilder, who also drove the bus, said, “We could have made it there a lot faster, but traffic was horrible…the longest traffic jam we were in was for about thirty minutes!”
Students and sponsors ate breakfast on the way. Before going to Six Flags, they went shopping at the mall then left for the park around noon. Senior Heather Prince, who is very daring, was the only one to ride the Flying Dragon, which is a bungee jump.
Heather exclaims, “That was the scariest and most exciting thing that I have ever done. Nothing will ever top that. It was very expensive, but it was worth the total amount!”
Sponsors Kenny Vangilder and Debbie Richey both agree that this is one of the best classes Marmaduke has ever had. This year will be the fifth year Vangilder and Richey have been sponsors together. This is Mrs. Richey’s last year to sponsor and she said “I have had so much fun sponsoring seniors these last five years… seeing them grow and learn has been a wonderful experience for me… watching them interact with one another on the senior trip truly lets me see that they will miss their friend.”
Kenny Vangilder said, “I have had so much fun getting to know the seniors outside of school. They are great individuals and I see and expect so much all them. Like they say the best kids come from Marmaduke!”
