FFA Show Team Places in the Greene County Fair
By Courtney Thompson
Last week was a busy week for the FFA at the Greene County Fair. The Marmaduke show team had many first and second place wins including Colton Hale’s pig which finished first in its class and won Grand Champion in its division. Chelsea Parks’ lamb also finished first in its class. Also, Tristin Clayton had two lambs finish second in their classes.
Other members of the show team include: Cody Taylor, finishing in third place with his lamb, Andrew White finished fourth place with his pig, Kaitlyn Friar finished fifth place with her pig, Nick Reinhart finished fifth with his goat, Dylan Summers had a goat that finished sixth. Kyle McKay, Briar Easley, Matthew Vowell, and Chase Parks, also showed their goats.
To these people, these animals aren’t just for showing. As Cody Taylor says, “She’s my lamby, and I love her dearly!” These pigs, lambs, and goats, mean so much more to these students. Tristin Clayton said that she loves showing animals because she loves animals and “Not only is it fun, it’s also a great learning experience,” she said.
“I feel that our show team done pretty well in the Greene County Fair,” said Mr. Lenderman. To all of the Marmaduke show team, congratulations. We are proud of you, all.
